Date of Incident: Oct. 27, 2018

Violation:

  • 11. Violation of University policies, rules or regulations or of campus regulations including, but not limited to, those governing residence in University-provided housing, or the use of University facilities, or the time, place and manner of public expression. Specifically: Violation of Student Organization Handbook, specifically IFC policies. Organization failed to register an event. 
  • 12. Manufacture, use, possession, sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages or any controlled substance without proper prescription or required license or as expressly permitted by law or University regulations, including operating a vehicle on University property, or on streets or roadways adjacent to and abutting a campus, under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance as prohibited by law of the state of Missouri. Specifically: It was reported that the organization hosted a party on or about the above date at a residence on Providence. It was reported that alcohol was allegedly provided to minors at the party. 

Sanction:

  • Official University Warning
  • Risk Management Review and Revision. Specifically: The organization will be required to revise the Sigma Phi Delta risk management policy with the assistance of the IFC Vice President of Risk Management and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life Staff. Revised plan must be submitted to the OSAS no later than March 29, 2019.
  • Alcohol Education. Specifically: The organization must host an alcohol education program from the Wellness Resource center before March 29th, 2019. The event must have 80% of the chapter attendance and be submitted to OSAS by March 29, 2019.
  • Month Meetings: The President of the organization will have monthly meetings with the OFSL, Jonathan Rummel, until May 2019.

  • Required to register all events for FS2018 14 days in advance instead of the usual 7 days in advance.bet
